Oh Give Thanks Unto the Lord...

    Once again, we will be celebrating Thanksgiving Day in just a very short time. At the same time, we find ourselves living in an economy that has not been friendly to anyone the whole world over. There is trouble and turmoil on every hand, natural disasters in diverse places, new sickness, and diseases cropping up everywhere. There hardly seems to be anyone, or any country who has not been affected in some way. 

    Nevertheless, in the midst of all of this,  there is Jesus, and for those of us who are called by His great name, there is peace, hope, and joy. His words, which are recorded in the Holy Scriptures (Bible), are life and strength to the believer, and while these are very trying times, we find that we still have a lot to be very thankful for. In the middle of a troubled world, there is still victory in Christ Jesus.

    Personally, I am thankful for my health, and the health of my children, I am also thankful for those who have been a blessing to us in times of need. I am thankful to God for this country, the United Stated of...

Independence Day

July 4, 2009

Today is the 4th of July, the nation's Independence Day. It is the day that the United States celebrate Their new freedom from the tirany from Great Britain. This happened many years ago, and still yearly, this event is celebrated with great pomp and ceremony, as it happens in any nation that has had to break free from under bondage to another.
 
This brings to mind that the whole world lies in bondage of sin, and in like manner, God, because of the great love He has for us, made a way for us to be set free. We receive our independence from sin and satan's power, by receiving Jesus Christ as our only Lord and Savior.
You see, He payed the penalty for sin on our behalf, in order to fulfill the righteous demands of a Holy God who said that: "the soul that sin, it shall die" Ezekiel 18:4. Jesus fulfilled this, as He died, a human sacrifice for the sins of the whole world. We are free from sin and satan's power, when we accept this complete offering for sin. Yes, there...
